Symbolic Regression

GE successfully found the X+X²+X³+X⁴ target function in the original experiments and again with the Steady State selection. Using the Steady State selection saw an improvement over previous results and a cumulative frequency measure can be seen in Figure 2. In the original experiments only 2% of the runs would find the target expression within the designated 50 generations. Now, however 95% of the runs successfully find the solution within this time frame.
